A hand-thrown stoneware mug finished in a deep bronze glaze that shifts between charcoal, warm brown and muted metallic tones as the light moves across the surface.
The glaze develops naturally in the kiln, leaving subtle markings, flashes and variations unique to this piece. The narrow pulled handle is formed and attached by hand.
Each mug in this series is individually made and numbered. No two surfaces are identical.

From the studio
Developed around the changing surface of iron and fire. The dark body moves from charcoal into bronze where the glaze catches more strongly, leaving each firing with its own pattern and tone.
