Every piece is recorded.
The registry is the studio's catalogue raisonné — the complete, permanent record of the work. Each piece that leaves the studio carries its own number; the record holds its code, collection, clay body, glaze, firing notes, and photographs, and it is kept whether the piece is still available or long in a private collection.
The code is written on the base of the piece or on its card. Upper or lower case, with or without dashes — both find the record.
Numbered
Every piece is assigned its own code before it leaves the studio. No code is ever reused.
Documented
Clay body, glaze, firing, dimensions, and the month the piece was made are recorded together with its photographs.
Permanent
Sold work is not removed. A piece that has found its owner stays in the record, marked sold.
