A waisted cup with a flared rim on a narrow turned foot. The crystalline glaze fired to a pale ground of cream, oat and faint lilac, streaked where it ran during the firing, with small blue crystals that grew in the glaze as the kiln cooled. The rim is a warm speckled amber where the glaze thinned over the clay, and the glaze stops in a soft drip line above the bare stoneware foot. Crystals form only in the cooling kiln and cannot be placed by hand, so this surface exists once.
Thrown by hand and fired to 1250 °C in oxidation. One of one; the maker's mark is stamped on the foot.
